Aloe vera roots belong to the Asphodelaceae family, a category of monocotyledonous flowering plants in the group Asparagales. In recent times it has been cultivated around the world for medicinal uses due to its gel-like pulp and its ability to treat irritability and inflammation. This greatly increases their market price. It is also used by residents some areas of Africa, Asia, Australia as an indoor houseplant and outdoors in mild climates with proper care.
